1Who we are

Atri (“Atri”, “we”, “us”) operates the Vedic astrology service at atri.living. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email ask@kapila.today.

2Information we collect

  • Birth details you provide — the name, date, time, and place of birth you enter. The place is converted to geographic coordinates and a time zone to compute your chart.
  • Account information — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier.
  • Content you generate — the charts and readings you create and the questions and messages you exchange with Atri, which we store to your account so you can return to them.
  • Developer API keys — stored only as an irreversible hash; we never keep the plaintext key.
  • Technical data — your IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention) and basic request metadata.

3How we use your information

We use your information to compute charts and generate readings; to authenticate you and maintain your session; to save your charts and conversations to your account; to operate, secure, and improve the service; and to prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal information.

4Third-party services

We rely on a small number of providers that process data to deliver the service:

  • Google — sign-in and identity verification.
  • DeepInfra — our AI inference provider. To produce a reading or chat reply, your chart data and questions are sent to this provider for processing.
  • OpenStreetMap Nominatim — geocoding your birth place into coordinates.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate, anonymised usage measurement to understand how the site is used.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Please review them if you would like more detail.

5Storage, security, and retention

Your data is stored in our database. API keys are hashed and session tokens are cryptographically signed. We retain your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and delete it on request. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

6Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can sign out at any time and revoke API keys from the developer console. To exercise any right, email ask@kapila.today.

7Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep your session and preferences (such as your most recent reading). We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure aggregate, anonymised usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8Children

Atri is not intended for anyone under 16, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected here.
